September 2026 | Bengaluru, India
General Datum signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Omspace Rocket & Exploration Private Limited at the Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX) 2026, held from September 7–9 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). The collaboration aims to advance CubeSat and small-satellite deployment capabilities through the integration of General Datum’s satellite deployer technologies with Omspace’s Infinity One launch platform.
The agreement represents a step towards developing integrated launch and deployment solutions for upcoming satellite missions, with a focus on technical compatibility, testing, and mission readiness.
Advancing Satellite Launch and Deployment Integration
Under the MoU, General Datum and Omspace will explore the integration of their respective technologies to support future CubeSat and small-satellite missions.
The collaboration will focus on several key areas, including:
- Technical Integration: Exploring the integration of General Datum’s satellite deployer systems with Omspace’s Infinity One platform.
- Mission Compatibility: Evaluating mechanical interfaces, deployment requirements, and compatibility with prospective satellite missions.
- Testing and Validation: Supporting integration testing and verification activities to assess system compatibility and deployment reliability.
- Deployment Planning: Coordinating deployment requirements and mission-specific integration activities for future launch opportunities.
By aligning launch vehicle capabilities with satellite deployment technologies, the collaboration seeks to simplify integration activities and support a more streamlined pathway from satellite development to orbital deployment.
MoU Signed at Bengaluru Space Expo 2026
The MoU was signed by Manikandan Selvaraj, Senior Manager, General Datum, and Maulik Mota, Chief Technology Officer, Omspace, in the presence of representatives from both organisations.
Bengaluru Space Expo 2026 provided a platform for the two companies to formalise their collaboration and explore opportunities in India’s expanding commercial space ecosystem.
Supporting India’s Growing Small-Satellite Ecosystem
As demand for CubeSat and small-satellite missions grows, compatibility between launch platforms and spacecraft deployment systems remains an important consideration for mission planning and execution.
General Datum develops lightweight composite satellite deployer systems designed to support CubeSat and small-satellite missions. Its deployer portfolio includes configurations for spacecraft ranging from 1U to 16U, with a focus on structural efficiency, reliable separation mechanisms, and compatibility with multiple launch vehicles.
Through this collaboration, General Datum and Omspace aim to bring together complementary engineering capabilities to support satellite developers seeking integrated launch and deployment solutions.
Enabling Future Space Missions Through Collaboration
The agreement reflects General Datum’s continued commitment to strengthening India’s indigenous space technology capabilities through engineering development and strategic partnerships.
By combining General Datum’s satellite deployment expertise with Omspace’s launch vehicle development efforts, the two organisations intend to explore solutions that improve mission integration and support greater access to space.
The collaboration lays the groundwork for future technical engagement, integration studies, and potential mission opportunities involving CubeSat and small-satellite deployments.
